Or, “My solution to the promotion dilemma.”

I finally came up the perfect (handmade) promotional item! It incorporates my designs, it’s functional, cute, and inexpensive. Ta-da!

I scanned some of my stitched notecards and printed parts of the designs on cardstock, which I then used as the covers for these little single-signature booklets (Littleput Books has a great tutorial on making these), perfect for jotting down a phone number, a short shopping list, a quick note-to-self. They’re about the size of a business card, and I printed my URL on the back. I plan to give these out like I would a business card at craft shows, and include them (with business cards, too) when I ship orders. And I’m putting them in these adorable little envelopes (which I purchased from Schoollocker on Etsy–she has TONS of great supplies for all kinds of projects). I decorated the envelopes with a fern stamp.

So, whatcha think? I’d love to hear what you use for promotional giveaways, too.

Woohoo! I got a
treasury today!! It’ll be up ’til Thursday, so go click on it now. I’m big into contrasting metals at the moment–used to think it was tacky, but I’ve discovered the beauty of silver paired with copper, or copper contrasting with bronze. Here are links to all the shops I featured, so you can check em out even after the treasury expires:

I wish I could buy them all!

Wow, I am all up in the almost-daily blogging here lately, aren’t I? I may be subconsciously trying to discipline myself because soon I will have to begin blogging as part of my day job, and no one likes to be thrown into a new responsibility with creaky knees and rusty writing chops. Or it may be that my voracious appetite for reading blogs is taking over my life–and, consequently, I find myself inspired to post on an almost daily basis. Probably a combination of the two. Soon I think I shall start posting my favorite Etsy finds, to satisfy my desire to support all the wonderful artists whose work I cannot afford to buy at present. Yay!
Anyhoo, I’m mainly posting this as a note-to-self: the CRAFT blog today alerted me to a swell tool called Fontifier (which was brought to their attention by Jessica of How About Orange). Not to be vain, but I kinda dig my handwriting sometimes, so I think I’ll try this. For 9 bucks it just might be worth it. End note to self.
Happy hump day! Here’s a picture of something I made:
